I have a Whites Eagle Spectrum and used to hunt a lot when I lived in south Louisiana. My best find was a piece of LA colonial coinage that was made between 1811-1815. There was a shortage of coinage in LA at the time so a bank took some Spanish reales, divided them into eighths, and counter stamped them with the bank’s initials. You could even see the markings on the reale. I found it near Donaldsonville and gave it to state archeologists.

If I still lived there, I’d take you up on the offer to hunt that GA plot!

It’s a great hobby and addictive.

Got in with a Silver Umax, tried and sold an AT Pro, then got a used Eldorado Umax which i still have along with a Nokta Simplex. Found some vichi and nazi coins at our farm that was interesting.
