My last house had electric central heat strips and I would never want to go back. It was insane watching how much more electricity it used to heat the house even with the thermostat on 65.
I have natural gas central heat now and would never go back. Most of the people I know still use some form of electric heat whether central or space heaters.

I'm thinking of going propane when I build.

Electric heat strips suck arse, especially in an old double shotgun with high ceilings and cracks between the floors. That cold blast NOLA got in 2017, I think it was, our electric heat couldn't get to 50 degrees inside.
