Everyone's feet are different
The best thing to do is spend some time trying on every boot brand you like. When you find that "most comfortable boot" for your foot you'll know.

I have a pair of Justin, full quill ostrich with the rubber crepe sole. One of the most comfortable pair of shoes, much less boots, I have ever owned...

Never hanging out with you again.

Get some Tecovas for daily, casual wear and then some Lucchese's for something nice.

Convinced Lucchese are some sort of torture device from the dark ages. My best comparison is wearing your mother in law around on your feet all day.

That you did even once shows a stunning lack of judgement.

On topic...I make my own.

They're not all day, everyday boots.

They're fancy boots. They're out to dinner boots. They're not kicking around all day boots.

I'm telling you all, get some Tecovas if you haven't already.

Tecovas. And I've owned em all. Get em 1/2 size smaller and 1 size wider than you normally wear.
