This is true. If you want to move beyond LTC you better learn to speak the jargon and expouse the line. My brother in law was a Lt. Colonel and was out and out told that 8 years ago. There was a big exodus at that time of field command level officers with 20 + years in that were " encouraged" to to take early retirement.

They were a bunch of hardassed dudes who took no shite. They were told that their types were no longer "needed".He has very little confidence in the officer corps today..... especially at colonel and above. He especially HATES West Point shites said the place is nothing more than a liberal indoctrination center today....and he's a West Pointer
