People dont like free markets and are jealous of people that are willing to spend more than they are for a product. I have no idea why. Am I upset I cant get a PS5 for $550 right now without some effort? Sure. But that's Sonys fault. Im not getting mad at my neighbors for spending more or making something either.

Yeah they act like I put in no effort to get it. I’ve been trying every drop that happens when I am available. I’ve gotten lucky a few times, but I got time in it to get one. Time is money

We get it. Free market is good. Making a little profit is good. What upsets me is that 15% of the units being sold are being snatched up by people who sell them back for profit, sometimes double what it’s worth. It’s ok to do that, it’s also ok to say it is a dick move when people can’t buy them at retail price because of limited availability on top of scalpers scooping up 2 out of 10 units and flooding the market with overpriced units. People don’t have to buy them, and I wish they wouldn’t. To pay double for a ps5 where it’s in the first few months of its life span and there’s no ps5 exclusive games means you’re an idiot anyway, so kudos for them for taking advantage of idiots. I’m more concerned with the fact that it makes it harder for people to get one at retail price when they’re using bots to snatch up everything they can. Of course it’ll be harder to buy one.

No, reselling for massive markups is an absolutely degenerate thing to do. You are taking advantage of people that don't have the time to order snipe because they have actual jobs and or kids to deal with. You are creating a disgusting black market preventing people from being able to buy the goods they want. The only people who are able to buy the products you snipe are the fanatics and elite, you are disparaging the lower and middle class forcing only the elite to be able to pay for goods. There is no supply or demand issue. It's the same fricking problem with ammunition, there's enough for 100% of the consumer base but 10% of the base is buying 90% of the product for either hoarding or upsaleing. Its fricking disgusting, and is a prime example of market manipulation.

Ammunition is different. People are worried about ammo bans and there is a tenfold increase in the number of gun owners. People are hoarding ammo and for those that aren’t willing to go stand out in front of academy for 2 hours they can pay extra on gunbroker.

I have no issue with it. I have a job and managed to get one more than a month ago.
The one thing I am against is bots. People that scoop up like 15 of them at a time are the issue. Not the people scooping one up here and there and reselling.
It still kind of shocks me the amount of people that don’t realize how common this is either in other markets. The one I have primary experience in is shoes. If a shoe that’s hyped is releasing I’ll try to buy a pair solely to re-sell.

I will never understand this take. The price isnt gonna drop for at least 2 years. If the console life is 7 years you are getting more value if you pay $500 for 7 years of a consoles life than $500 for the last 5 years
This isnt like most products where you get a huge discount if you wait a while to buy it. You simply get that much less time to enjoy it because developers will only make games for it for so long
