Herman Johnson

The imposing 6-7, 351-pounder is one of two players in LSU history to have lined up for 1,000 snaps in a season. A first team All-SEC selection, he notched 58 knockdowns last year.

Of 26 players chosen, the SEC makes a helluva showing....

He is an O-line by himself almost. How do you get around that guy? 58 knockdowns? Sweet mercy.

He may very well be... but Herman's not competing with Ciron for All-American.

IMHO I think he is, but it's up to the media who gets pre-season AA honors. Big Herm was a big recruit (literally), is a senior and rated as a high draft pick in the preseason mock drafts. He deserves the buzz, and I’m happy for him.

I don't think HJ is even all SEC

Black was all SEC

How do they make these preseason picks, again?

Debatable... just don't say he's better than Michael Oher.

Damn, the SEC has some serious O-linemen.

Whatever dude, it would be way over your head... what do you know about being an O-lineman?

oher is a beast...neither black nor smith are as good as him

but i would definitely take black over smith

while smith may be more dominant at times, he also gets beat bad a lot...he's usually one of two extremes

black is just rock fricking solid every play

I think HJ has great feet and movement for a man 50 lbs. lighter than him. He plays with intensity, passion and doesn't miss many assignments. He is VERY deserving of at least All-SEC.

Oher, Smith, and Black are interchangable IMHO.

FWIW, I only see HJ getting better and better as he progresses into the NFL.......he does need to keep an eye on the scale though. I'd have him playing at 335 though.

Barkdale is the next true superstar on that line. Kid has it all.

Our left side of the line is ridiculous. HJ and Ciron Black.
