Check the temp of the room you are keeping them in. Don’t let it get higher than 70 deg.

I have a buddy way down the bayou that never uses anything in his humidor because the humidity in his home is always high. Where are you located?
Also I went on a cigar tour in the DR recently and none of the major manufacturers use any sort of humidifying agent.
