This is the first time I've seen a major political figure call these people by their name.
We've a always had oligarchs, but we never called them that.

This is an interesting change. And I think it matters.
In American culture, oligarchy is unacceptable. It's like a tyrant in the Roman Republic.
The difference here is the old oligarchs did their best to stay out of sight. These new men, people like Bezos or Bloomberg, don't.
I think they're tempting fate. When DeSantis calls these people Oligarchs, it both justifies and demands action.
