Anyone here tried Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Special Release Barrel Proof Rye? Is it worth hunting?
Yes. Was able to trade for a couple bottles. It’s really really good. That being said with so many great ryes out there I don’t see myself paying the secondary price for it. It’s good but it’s not that good. If you get it at MSRP your gonna love it. For comparison purposes, I traded a bottle of Weller 12 for one and a bottle of Blantons for the other. The Blantons trade was the better of the two but both trades were fair.

You're unlikely to find that JD special release on shelves anymore. Secondary is in the 225-250 range. It really is deserving of the hype, but I wouldn't pay more than half of the secondary price for it.
As jpg mentioned, the market has really improved in terms of ryes. Sagamore, Rare Breed, Willett, and Stellum are worth targeting in the 60 and under range.
