Saints Announce Cuts - Official

The Saints just released their roster cuts. Fullback Kevin Dudley, receiver Todd Blythe, center Rob Hunt, safety Curome Cox and punter Waylon Prather were waived. Dudley (ankle) and Cox (groin) were waived injured.
The deadline for the next 22 cuts is Saturday at 3 p.m. central time.

why did we keep west instead of blythe? i didnt think west played? maybe it was to give blythe a chance elsewhere

2/5 here too, no biggie. Finals is where it counts. I think Dudley was definitely let go to try and catch on somewhere else.

Dudley dislocated his elbow during the game, so that was probably the writing on the wall for him (besides the fact that we have a stud in Karney).
Dude can play. I am shocked noone picked him up last yeah after we cut him.

Dudley played college ball at Michigan, and he has been with us for the last two training camps. He caught a td pass during this year's preseason...However, he sprained his left ankle during the Cincy game...I am not sure if cutting him was the right choice, UNLESS we are just going to keep one fullback.
Olaniyi Sobomehin, the rookie FB from Portland State is still on the roster. I mean no disrespect to O.S. or his family and fans, but if we choose to keep O.S. and cut Dudley, that would be a big mistake and make no sense what so ever, because O.S. doesn't have the experience of being in a prior training camp, nor has he had the production this year, that Dudley has had!
As far as Todd Blythe and Joe West, We all know Blythe would have not made the 53 man roster, but Blythe caught a nice pass with two defender's draped all over him, during the Cincy game. I am not saying that because of that catch that we should have kept Blythe on the roster, but have we even played West at all this preseason? West hasn't done anything to warrent being on the roster over Todd Blythe in my opinion.
So i disagree with those two cuts. In my opinion, I do not think O.S. should have been chosen over K.D. and i do not think J.W. should have been chosen over T.B. at this present time.
Just giving my 2 cents!
