Short selling isn’t the problem
Short selling doesn't provide a tangible good or service. It doesn't create jobs. It doesn't add value to the larger economy in any way. If you think a stock is overvalued, sell it, ignore it, or invest in its competition.
At best, it extracts value from one group of investors and sends it to a different group of investors.
At worst, it destroys thousands of jobs and economic conditions around the country.
If you want to set a prop bet on the opening coin flip of the Super Bowl, go ahead.
If you want to do it with people's livelihoods, I have a problem with it.
