Heck of an informative post.

quote:

know we don't want absentee voting by the masses but this is the best possible scenario IMO. Two forms of ID bring the process closer to what in person voting requires. It gets rid of the stupid signature verification. [quote]You have to fraud with your current physical ID 2x to cheat.

If you have it once, you got it for the second time.

Must happen or Ballot harvesting will be the norm. That's what they were used for.

SB71 Heavily reduces absentee eligibility

HB325 - LINK house version of SB71 above. Basically absentee voters are people who must be absent for reasons.

SB73 Limits distribution of absentee applications

This, though I have not read the "list" is a must too.

Words like Pandemic etc must be included.

Most of these won't see the light of day. Maybe 2 or 3 get through in some format. Many of them conflict with each other..including Republican bills.

There will be some heavy debate over the ID rules on absentee votes. The problem is SOS simply want the use of drivers license number in replace of signatures. This is just to make their lives easier. It doesn't in any way slow fraud. In fact, it makes it easier. You simply can have a data base of driver IDs and DOBs and knock out thousands of absentee ballots.

This conflicts with other Rep bills that heavily reduce or nearly eliminate absentee ballots or require heavier real ID laws and tying ballots directly to a voter.

On the other had, the Dem bills expand as much as possible more absentee ballots, everybody gets registered to vote without asking, less voter registry maintenance, permanent absentee voter registration, and more drop boxes.

IF you read through the legislation you can see exactly how we got here and why each and every legislative seat matters.
