I'd say fire them all... but... that would realistically be impossible to replace. I wonder how many would still refuse, though, if firing was on the table.

Stop paying them until they show up to work. Problem will solve itself quick when they aren’t getting a paycheck and are ineligible for unemployment because they’re voluntarily refusing to show up to their jobs

If they aren't teaching in classrooms, you have nothing to replace.

Remote learning does not work. Failure rates are orders of magnitude higher than ever before. Literacy is PLUMMETING as well.

This is reaching critical mass for our children. Fire them and start over with willing instructors that aren't union. I don't care how experienced or qualified they are, if they are teaching out of a textbook in-person, that is better than what they have now.

Eventually the old teachers will come around and ask for their jobs back, then you just take the better ones.

bullshite. Reagan fired ALL of the air traffic controllers (about 13,000) and airplanes didn't fall flaming out of the air and the world didn't end. Flights were canceled and air traffic slowed for a few months, but lo and behold, their jobs aren't as specialized as one would think and they pretty quickly either were returned to work or were replaced.

The only president to head a labor union broke a labor union.

Chicago "can't" fire these teachers because the administration doesn't have the balls (or most likely, the desire) to treat subordinates like subordinates.

Fire them all and make the kids pick up highway litter all day then.
