Definitely Masonite siding.
That was a popular product 25 years ago. It would rot the first couple feet up from the ground where water would splash and get into the exposed edge. You won’t find that product anymore unless someone tears it off another house.

It is all under a covered patio. Basically you are telling me I need to put something over it. What would you suggest?
