I was 220 when I made the changes (260 at one point) and thought I just needed to lose a "few" lbs.
At the end of 2016 I was up to about 220lbs at 5'9". I knew I was fat but I didn't know how fat until I lost it all. I look back at my before/afters and can only laugh. It was gross.

After eliminating most processed foods and added sugar and increasing my physical activity for a couple of years I'm 5'8"/144 lbs.
Exact same. Started paying attention to what I ate (avoided sugar), cooked every meal, switched to liquor instead of beer and hit the gym 5x a week. By the end of that year I was down to 160lbs and more cut than I was in high school. Now it's just maintenance and that's easy now that I know what I'm doing.
