Oh man that’s a good point. I hadn’t even thought about Armstrong and Kennedy but you’re 100% correct on that. I also agree that personnel is not the issue, we have multiple defense first players in Wilkinson, Gaines and Cook which is more than we had with our best defensive unit that had Taylor and Bigby-Williams as our stopper types. What bothers me most was the obvious matchup to Alabama in particular. Bama has 2 ball handlers on the entire roster (Quinearly and Jones), Jones isn’t even that good at it. So even if you wanna open up in zone you must have a man changeup D ready to go. You could’ve picked them up in full court man to man using Cook and Gaines more and wore them down by running multiple bodies at their ball handlers for 40 minutes. But after hearing his post game comments Wade confirmed that he’s going to go down running this defense that has been an epic failure. He said he wasn’t going to change anything and that he believed the team didn’t have the proper spirit and energy needed to match theirs. You know I’m a Wade fan but after watching then hearing him after I’m really worried.
