Unfortunately the MSM still has credit with some people, and this number was likely to be significantly higher when Trump began running for President. There was a hit on Trump's character from day one and race was used as a primary target for attack, and maybe the only.

I think one result of Trump's erroneous portrayal as a racist could be actual racists who keep to themselves, being more likely to not keep to themselves in Trump's defense. Which further perpetuates the false narrative, especially if caught on camera.

There's an overly manufactured element to the way race is viewed in America right now. Unless Joe Biden is deemed to wake up racist one day soon, I think the race narrative takes a back seat to the past 5-6 years.

Not racist but could be if pushed a bit. Look at nature. Most species want to be with their same species and it shows. Just saying....

And it's true I saw a couple confederate flags at the Capitol.

I saw a couple of Confederate flags in Upper State NY last summer. Bunch of young guys in a pick up truck.

Driving through Elmira NY, I saw this in a Confederate cemetery. The good Christians of Elmira tried to help, but the liquidation was political and intentional.

Lived in quite a few places in my 39 years. Up until 21 in Alabama, all over in the Navy, and lately Hawaii.

Hawaii does this better than most. Pretty common to tell jokes about different races and no one gets offended as long as you use common sense. Racial/cultural differences here tend to be obvious and not a big deal versus something that you could lose your job for. Actually if you assume/expect everyone thinks the same, you'll struggle at your job. More refreshing to be open and it not be a big deal than avoiding things.

Have two half Japanese daughters. Don't want them to grow up feeling ashamed of their white skin for something I or they didn't do. They should absolutely teach slavery, Civil War, Jim Crow, etc. But they should also teach black Africans from stronger civilizations sold the slaves to the slave traders. Point being to exonerate no-one, but to show that people of all colors have been in the oppression business. In the last 500 years of humanity it has been largely Europeans, short in overall timeline and well explained by books like Guns, Germs, and Steel as to why. But Mongols, Arabs/Persians, Egyptians, and Malians and other African civilizations have all ruled harshly over people throughout history. Right now the message is only that whites do that. That sort of narrative will lend itself to China ruling the world next as liberals want us to believe that since they're not white they're not bent on conquest.

I've gotten along well with just about all black folks I know. Good people. As a conservative I hate to see the destruction of the black community in liberals propagating a learned helplessness. I think blacks are far more capable than someone needing a white savior. Really, if the Democrats just leave blacks alone. I'm a white conservative male but yet they care more about someone being black than I do. Go figure. A liberal would say I like Candace Owens and Larry Elder because they exonerate me and those people are Uncle Toms. Nothing they fear more than an independent thinking black person leaving the Democratic plantation and persuading others
