I didn't watch the interview but the thread title says "peaceful transition OF military power." Big difference between OF and TO. Which one is it?
It’s sort of odd phrasing either way. At least, I can’t recall ever seeing anyone specify “military” in this instance.

It's normally refered to as "the peaceful transition of power." Peaceful transition of "military power?" As you say, it's odd phrasing. It sounds like the type of thing you might say if the military is taking over. Last I checked, the executive branch is a lot more than just military power. This general speaks as if the military is about to take control.
