To answer your question... See my reply about the 6.5CM . Created in 2007, the cartridge was dormant for 8 yrs until American Sniper was released. The only people who really knew about the CM were LR competition and PRS shooters.

I think you're on point. I just find it interesting to hear what deer hunters reason is for the caliber.
