I'm curious about this as well. Where did you put the hive in your yard?

It’s in the back corner of the yard. Probably about 75 feet from the back door.

I keep most of my hives at a separate location, but bring others home if they are weak. Right now I have 2 strong hives in my backyard. Like pillage said, you don’t really notice them, especially during a flow. Now. When there is a dearth, they will destroy your hummingbird feed or any sugar based anything that you leave out.

All being said. If you don’t have a hive in your backyard, there is gonna be one somewhere close anyhow.
