I have had several years of good production with Big Beef, not so with the purple/black varieties.

Retweet. Big beef have been really reliable for me over the past two seasons. Celebrities do well too but the big beef plants make bigger, nicer tomatoes IMO. I normally wind up using most of the celebrities for salsa.

I’m thinking I may try to grow a few in containers inside of my greenhouse. You know, when I finally do build one.
