These 1-2 million viewer numbers the late night hosts are pulling are pathetic. In a nation of 330 million people, it means less than 1% of the population are watching these shows.

People are watching Netflix, amazon prime, youtube, etc and the programming is completely oversaturated. Does anyone under the age of 40 even watch basic television anymore? You can't compare ratings from the Boomer era to today. The ratings the most popular television shows get today would be low enough for them to be cancelled 20 years ago.
