Typical teenager that thinks he knows everything and that the grass is always greener on the other side. This is a classic example of a player getting pampered his entire life and calling home to momma because somebody said something that hurt his feelings! Keep on moving...hopefully we'll see on the field one day real soon!

Definitely not making excuses for Gilbert (or any other player), but the "red carpet" treatment and the demands once you start practice couldn't be further apart.

Some guys can't handle it. That first arse chewing for a mistake, and then grudges are held (sometimes by coaches by the way), etc. etc. and it is like the ground fell out from under them.

That being said, if you can't handle get the hell out. But that's indeed what happens with some teenagers, especially the most talented. It's sad in a way; very frustrating for coaches. But it happens and if it's a bad enough response (or lack thereof in some cases) from the player, the relationship is over.
