you're both arguing that the "other" has so much power they will have the ability to purge your in group immediately. that cannot be true at the same time (and it isn't true in reality right now)

you want to know how one side WILL gain that power? irrational events that can create imagery that the majority of the non-political population will not tolerate. here is an example of that:



when you allow your side to create this sort of imagery, you're opening up the population to seize power in response

even the "summer riots" people reference on here did that.
