One group wants chaos, the other groups wants enforcement of Law. Although, there can be an disagreement as to whether enforcement of Law is taking place.
Plausible deniability plus prosecution discretion.
There is really not much difference between today and 1776, I would say today might be significantly worse in many ways.

Nope, I am consistent in my views.
That lady that was shot yesterday, she might have been a good person who got caught up in the moment, but she died while committing a crime, doesn't bother me at all.
Those guys on your side that fought cops or ignored them, doesn't bother me one bit what happened to them.
Race, gender or political affiliation doesn't matter to me.I despise all criminals.
