"They're saying the reason he didn't go to NC State is that he didn't qualify academically under ACC rules. This is the first I heard of that. I always thought it was because we hired his dad as Head Coach."
My dad went to school with Press when he was getting his masters. We picked Press up at the airport in NO when he came in to interview with LSU. Pete was never going anywhere but where ever Press was coaching period.
Glad he came to LSU.

I’ve heard that too. Never heard the N.C. State story, although I did hear that his preferred choice was actually to play for West Virginia University...but, yes, he chose playing for his father even over that.
