Does anyone know how many of the books the show has covered through 4 seasons?
I’m on the 4th season now but would like to start the series while waiting for season 5.

I suggest watching the show before reading the books

Yeah I’m almost done season 4. Think it’s going to be a year before season 5 drops.

I have read 3 or 4 of the books and watched a few seasons. Bit of a plot loop.

Thats kind of how how that era actually was, though. Killed one viking leader, and another one would pop up. Rinse and repeat.

Sure but the whole plot of every book is identical (I’ve read them all so not a knock).
- New scary Viking leader
- Uthred tells them all how to beat new scary Viking leader
- Uhtred is not trusted because he’s a pagan and is accused of siding with the Vikings by some evil Saxon lord
- Alfred (then later Edward), believed evil Saxon lord although Uthred has saved England like 11 times at this point
-Uhtred tells them all to frick off but gets roped in anyway
- Uhtred saves the day with brilliant plan that everyone thinks will fail, gets no credit
- rinse repeat

I love the series but this is dead on, and annoying
