I'm 3-4 years from retirement. I am just hoping that the market doesn't fully crash, and would be okay with 5% returns for those years at this point.
To me, it's all about your debt load. I do plan to take SS at 62. I see no reason to not take it at the first opportunity. I know it's more at 67 and further, but who knows how long you have, and I paid into it for 40 years, would like at least some return on my money.

maybe I’m not smart or disciplined enough to save while servicing debt, but the fact is I’ve been debt free for three years now and my savings have quadrupled
I go with the simplest explanation which is, for me, getting free and clear from debt was my most important accomplishment
