Way to go, Ubiquiti. Create a product line with a label (G4) that means smart detection, then put out a G4 camera that can't do it. I guess they can get away with it in EA, but if they move it to GA as-is at the same price, I might be done with UI.

I picked one up because it was available for about 30m last week. It was gone before I could get my father in law to buy one (limit 1).

Picture quality seems pretty similar to the g3i. No smart detections, but I thought I was just glossing over something.

I haven't played much with it. But I still think it's a great fit in the ecosystem at $100, though it is SLIGHTLY annoying that the connector needs to be this semi-proprietary right-angle USB-c for the camera to sit down right and be able to be removed without fear of breaking it. The included cable is plenty long. But it's too long There will supposedly be a usb-c -from - POE power supply in the future, but I feel like that's going to look clunky, too.

It's a minor complaint and basically to be expected with a wifi product.

New UniFi camera out in EA, the AI Bullet. It's black and $300 like the AI 360. UI is always ambiguous with their product features, so I'm not sure what's improved over the G4 here. The hints are "the camera also provides pristine nighttime video to deliver high-quality surveillance around the clock" and "Note: AI-powered vehicle classification and pet detection functionality coming soon". So I guess it has pretty good low light picture and maybe an upgraded processor so it can not only identify but also classify vehicles.

4MP, not 4K, but honestly quality 4MP beats cheap 4K any day. Some "real" security companies sell 2MP cameras at a similar price point as this camera.
