PBS and U high have beaten them to win titles
For some reason I thought those two were 4A schools at the time of those games.

PBS maybe, but Uhigh has never been close to 4A enrollment.

They could opt up and play against schools in D1 with enrollment numbers more like their own?
I hope you realize that there is a significant difference between St Aug having 1023 all boys and St Thomas More having 971 within a coed school

How would that be?
And STM has fought like hell to get both private and public together again. It’s not like they want to be big fish in a small pond.

How is it counted? I honestly don't know.

I've often wondered if roster sizes should be capped based on the class you are in.
STM has 131 players on roster according to max preps.
DLS has 68.
Curtis has 95 players
Catholic has 57.
St. Aug has 77.

not roster sizes... and don't go by max preps.. catholic has way way more than 57. but even a sliding scale based off of players/per enrollment size is flawed because some small town schools have very high participation.

quote:but a public school also had a dad go all out bringing in some "hammers" to supplement his kid on his hoops team. they were state champs and runner ups.. from an area that is largely not a basketball area.. and this was in 5a... school didn't have anything to do with it.

STM has that many players because they don't have to try out; everyone who wants to can join. Many of those are kids who will never see the field, including students in Options (the program for kids with special needs).
