Get Ready for It

The Appy State fans will be on this board soon enough crowing about their ranking. They were just voted #1 in the preseason FCS poll by The Sports Network.
Way too high, if you ask me, which they didn't. They lost 13 starters from last year's team. No way are they the #1 team going in for this season.
Just thought I'd share with the Rant.
Oh and by the way, I'll be going to ASU on Thursday for the paper to shoot video and conduct interviews. Naturally, I'll be wearing the LSU lagniard from which my work ID hangs. Gotta represent!

Thanks for letting everybody know! I didn't realize we still had another poll left. We were voted #1 several weeks ago in another poll, so they aren't the only ones.

Too bad LSU couldn't hold up it's end of the ESPN "Clash of the Champions" #1 vs. #1.
Oh, I forgot, ESPN hates LSU, so I guess #1 vs. #7 will have to suffice for ratings.

I never said anything about it telling the outcome of the game....I just thank the person that put it up. I was uninformed of this poll. I don't think preseason polls mean crap...in any division, including BCS.

Apfan, Apsolutely the best just blew your cover. As you say to compare your #1 to the BCS does not even merit discussion. We will play hard against your team. We better are we will get beat, but we will not show much in the first 3 games, getting ready for Auburn, and your team is in the first three. Sorry.

I wasn't comparing our #1 ranking to any BCS ranking. I was simply saying I don't think preseason polls mean crap. No matter what. Look at Michigan. They were preseason #5 last year, got beat by us, and then lost who knows how many games. Obviously they weren't the #5 team in the country. I know that these polls are just speculation, but as an App fan, I don't think that the #1 ranking means we will beat you.

This is the second thread about Appy St's ranking started by LSU fans on the front page. I haven't seen any started by Appy fans.

Don't worry. A #7 ranking in the BCS division polls should still be a minimum of about 24-28 points better than a #1 ranking in the FCS polls.

Good post AppFan. Good luck with your season. I have always been impressed with your program, even before Michigan win. I live in a town where a 1AA school resides. We have followed them through the playoffs a couple of times, and respect the competition at the top of the division. But we can't let you beat us, you know that.

I am a professional, and I have a lot of respect for Coach Moore and the manner in which he has built that program. He has done it with class and dignity and has brought nothing but well-deserved recognition to the school for the program's success.
I'm looking forward to the trip on Thursday. It's a beautiful drive up the mountains.
