I don't think so. This year only works in their favor because they joined a conference in order to be able to play. If they go back to being Independent next season.... then I think making the CFP will be a long shot.

They make more money outside of a conference. Not splitting their NBC contract OR bowl money is huge.
In ‘18 they took home all $6mil for the CFP while everyone else split it evenly with their conference

If they are a recent champ, the committee will give zero fricks about their conference.

Clemson used to get shite for their crap arse conference but once they won a title, they started getting the same grading on a curve that Bama gets every season

You are young. No way you would think this if you lived through the 70’s, 80’s or 90’s. Notre Dame is the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Lakers of college football.
