It seems the “standard” leather and even the vinyl seats have gone to complete trash for many brands.

I don’t know if it’s because everyone wants perforated with seat coolers or what.

Toyota’s leather from early 2000s is 1000x better than today’s.

The new Chevy vinyl is horrible (it only comes in Jet Black to boot-no gray). I don’t see it lasting 5 years. It has almost a rubber feel to it. On the other hand Chevy trucks with the blue vinyl from the 90s seems to last forever.

It’ll be cheaper to just get cloth seats re-done with Catskin leather for $2k or less.

ETA: The non-perforated leather in the Chevy trucks seem fine (if you can still get that), but might not be worth the whole upgrade package to get leather.

New Chevy truck owner here, the leather was a 1k option on my truck so that’s what I went with. First time having leather in any of my vehicles and love it.
