.And before you say its a covid year top programs like Texas and Miss st have new coaches this year...

I agree with you and want to see Nikki gone and them bring in either a well established coach with success or a bright up and comer.

However, to be fair, MSU only hired a new coach b/c TX took theirs; so it's not like they were paying a buyout to fire and hire a new coach. They are likely saving money by paying the new one less. Hell, TX may have even had to pay MSU to get Shaefer.

700K+ for 10 years for what? No NCAA and a losing record in SEC this year and Nikki will leave after this year with an overall SEC losing record and $7M+...Thanks Joe, Thanks Miriam

I'll have to look it up; but I'm pretty sure this isn't accurate on her buyout. From what I remember, when they did her new contract, they actually lessened the buyout, even though they were lengthening the contract. The one smart thing Alleva actually did in that situation.

ETA: Never mind, I just re-read your statement and get what you are saying now. Thought you were referencing her buyout.

For what it is worth though, here is a link to when the extension was discussed back in 2018. If they fired her after this season, I think LSU would only owe her $200k; so that's very doable. LINK

I am pretty sure they foot the Bill for most of the travel

I worked in Intercollegiate Athletics and they (Vegas) don't cover the bill.

This is used for exposer to the program(s) at the tournament. Hence why almost all women's programs are in the red at the end of the year. Spend a ton on travel and arrangements but bring little in to offset.
