Because, like it or not, Saban coached here. He still has a lot of connections here and knows that exploiting them hurts one of his school's main threats.

Don't get me wrong, he was a different guy when he was here. He was focused on moving on to take a shot at the NFL. He did a great job of permanently changing the way we do things, but with some important people, he had worn out his welcome with all of the NFL talk. At Alabama, the only talk you ever hear is the quadrennial Texas rumors (which are silly; Texas isn't anywhere close to being as good a job as Alabama.) He's settled in ways he never was at LSU.
