One good thing about the Covid vaccine, is it really spotlights how much inefficiency we normally have. It's amazing how quickly you can get results when you cut a little red tape

It depends on what is being studied and the parameters of the grant/funding money.
Sometimes a process does take a long time because the requirements and the necessary outcomes take a long time to reach.
