Anyone know the regulations/laws around hunting non-WMA /NWR state claimed land; specifically bayous and lakes? Additionally what about putting a houseboat on a public bayou?

Well, if you are in the public waterway, I believe normal hunting rules apply. Can't have the motor running, have to be so far from public roads, etc. I have a bayou right by my house, but never hunt it because it's too close to a state highway.

Can't block navigation or put it on a Scenic River, but I think that's it. If it has a motor, it has to be registered with the state like any other boat.
Probably wouldn't hurt to contact LDWF and/or the parish where you plan to put the houseboat and make sure. There was a mess in Livingston Parish a few years ago over houseboats and the regulations pertaining to them.
