Bayou classic ceramic cypress grill. Had her 7 or 8 years. Recently had to jb weld the fire ring and fire bowl. The hinges were binding tonight, couldn't get it to close flush. So I tried to force it to close, and cracked the lid. I am now in the market for a new pit. Should I go with another Kamado style?

I will consider, my wife surprised me with this because I saw it in Lowes and told her it looked nice. I would have spent my money in the egg or primo. This one served me well.

I was looking at those(pellet smokers)as well for a secondary pit. How long have you had this and what is your max temperature?

I have had a cheaper pellet grill for awhile and love it, just got this unit this week. I have seen people post up to 600 degrees I also bought the searing grates for steak, etc

Might have to get both. I would like to have a pellet smoker, but love to get that fire going.

If you do go kamado style, get the Weber. Double-walled metal, not ceramic. Great kamado style cooker. Love mine.

Only 8 years eh? Doesn't say much in terms of quality for Bayou Classic.
