I was in your shoes before. I worked as a PM for years. Fate/Market Conditions would have it that I was laid off after some projects I was working on ended. I picked up a job as an estimator shortly thereafter, and I love it. It's amazing the difference in joy I have with changing from project management to estimating. A lot of it has to do with the company I work for now too. It's a lot more laid back and better coworkers than what I had to deal with working for the other company. I would suggest looking around for a different company/position before completely changing career paths and starting over. If you have construction education, skills, contacts, and experience, it's definitely useful and valuable to another company that can offer more personal job satisfaction than what you're currently having.
