I didn't say anything about not watching LSU anymore. But if they do what the Saints did, I surely would stop watching.

But you missed the point entirely. That, or you ignored it. You stated that these athletes owe us nothing. And my point was very clear: College and professional sports only exist because of the fans. People play games in their backyards every day and they don't make a dime. Because it's a freaking game. But one day, a long, long time ago, somebody had the idea of putting together organized sports, where teams were formed, and people would pay to be entertained. Whenever there wasn't enough support, those sports, or individual leagues, died out.

Fast forward to the present, and people have settled on what they like. That, and only that, gives athletes any value. WE make sports a profitable business. WE make free college scholarships possible. It doesn't matter how good you are, if the university makes nothing from it's fans, they don't have scholarships to give away.

So if any of them share your sentiment that they don't owe the fans to give it everything they have and show enough loyalty to at least finish the season, instead of quitting in the middle of it, then they should consider what I've said and remember who pays their ticket.
