What are you, his financial advisor? You have no idea what his personal financial situation is

Statistically speaking, he is probably correct. No idea what Fournette is doing, but he doesn't appear to be doing anything that would lead one to think he'll be the exception to the following rule:

quote:

Sports Illustrated once estimated that 78 percent of NFL players are either bankrupt or under financial stress within two years of retirement and 60 percent of National Basketball Association players are broke within five years of leaving the sport.

Of course, maybe he's got Russel Shepard's entrepreneurial spirit.

It's really hard to go broke if you follow the NFL program. It's all set up for you. If worst comes to worst he's played long enough to be vested in the League pension so he'll never be completely destitute.

Dude was cursed being drafted by Jacksonville. It's the RB equivalent to playing behind that Bengals OL for Burrow.

Trent Richardson was paying for 86 Netflix accounts during his rookie season. Now you can imagine how many light bills, car notes, etc... he was also paying. The pressure is IMMENSE on these young, black millionaires to "rememba wheh you come from", and to support these leeches. The smart ones cut the cord quick. But the stat you quoted show they are rare.
