Just a general question to LSU fans and LA residents in general, what is your general feeling of Bush, and the way his cabinet handled the entire situation?

Do you think he could win LA if he ran again?

I will be there - looking forward to it.

Whether it is shown on here or not, I know there are a lot of App fans that became pseudo LSU fans after the treatment we received last time we came down there. Additionally, I know over on the Mountaineer Message Board there have been a lot of supportive LSU fans over the past three years.

But here is a warning:

If you bring up Hurricane Katrina in mockery, that will not sit well with most LSU fans.

That would be the quickest way to get beat up on gameday.

Just a word to the wise.

That is all, carry on.

PErhaps a added word to the wise is that LSU fans should be reminded that when Appy State came to LSU the faculty, staff, and students of Appalachian State University and the citizens of Boone gave a $20,000 donation to the Katrina/Rita Student Relief Fund.

to the good app state fans: I think youre awesome. I became a app state fan last year listening to the game on the radio while on a roadtrip in arkansas. it was awesome. wish I could have watched it live.

to the stupid fans of app state that dont represent the university by posting classless stuff:

Appalachian State presented a check for $25,000 before the game back in 2005 for Katrina relief, didn't they?

How many hundreds of thousands is LSU paying them to play us? I'd prefer they just turn it down.

Nah, but seriously, they were very classy with their donation in '05. Appy =

The App State student body gave the largest donation of the schools that visited after Katrina.

They are a class act

Let me give it a try.

App. State, thank you for your very generous donation and support to the people of LA during one of the most difficult times in the State's history. I was unaware of what your school had done and as a native of LA with family still in the N.O. area, I am sincerely grateful. We're half a country away from you yet you stepped up to the plate in champion fashion, and it speaks volumes as to your class and compassion. You should rightly be proud of your school and what it stands for.

Consequently, when the Tigers play your team in 15 days, they will not dishonor you by giving anything less than their very best. So enjoy the food, the scenery (you'll see what I mean when you get there), and the hospitality, because you most definitely will not enjoy the game. Sorrreee (not really).

But really guys, thanks, and I hope you enjoy yourselves and have a great season (after LSU).

With one exception: Bears fans.
I was in Chicago in Jan. of '07, and it went waaaaay beyond the few insults posted on this thread - from every one I encountered. I could not believe how evil they were.

The one time in my entire life I felt like killing someone. Unreal the things that were said and Ive been at TS for 40 yrs, never heard or seen anything like it.

This is really more important for other school fans to see. For those of us who lost everything, the pain has not gone away and our fellow Louisiana citizens who didn't are always there to protect our backs. The AppSt coach is way to classy for something like an eye issue to occur.

Yeah, Chicago used to be one of my favorite towns, but no more after the NFCCG in '06. What a bunch of losers.

Les Miles is classy too, doesn't mean that LSU doesn't have its fair share of morons on campus during gamedays.

At the SEC title game in 05 the Dawg fans were pretty shittey about bringing up Katrina and FEMA. As a result, I have been saving some urine for them. I didn't even piss last Mardi Gras. I hope they like it! They give new meaning to 1 and done. Georgia

All very fair statements. As I have pointed out in other threads, I think there are a LOT of LSU fans out there that wear APP gear on a regular basis.

I look forward to coming down there and eating some great food, drinking some COLD beverages, losing some money at the casino and seeing some good football. (and hopefully seeing some boobies)

LSU fans, do beads only work during Mardi Gras or will they work the rest of the year too?

hmmm good question.

I think it would be okay if a LSU fan GIVES you the beads, but don't just go buy some beads and wear them. sport your app st colors with PRIDE!

you will be taken care of.

I was just trying help out JO3916 with his endeavors. Been to Mardi Gras a few times and I was always amazed what drunk women would do for some plastic and string. Unfortunately I won't be at the game but I'll wear my gear with pride come gameday regardless of score.
