That’s a shitload of protection. It also means that Denver is restricted from trading those picks until it conveys. Think about that briefly.

So it is a move that basically comes down to whether the unknown talent in the late teens or twenties 2 years from now is superior to RJ Hampton’s potential today.

...Or packaged into a larger deal.

Eh, I’m indifferent for the most part but Hampton’s upside isn’t something that falls like that every year, and I think given Denver’s strong scouting history, there is a pretty good reason they made this move.
