You also spoiled me as well. I get spoilers in the discussion, but the literal final major action in the book in the first sentence of your post.

Did you not read the title of the post?

I read it shortly after you posted and I was literally 20-30 pages before that event happens
Thought I was safe.

I just finished. I felt like this one was way more of a chore to get through than any other Sanderson I’ve read and the payoffs didn’t seem that great. It seemed to drag and drag, then felt rushed at the end. All m best stuff happened in the last 50 pages then it ended rather abruptly. What a slog.

It completely makes sense why we need another Wax & Wayne before part 5. The Cosmere is finally coming together. But damn, it took a bit too long to get there.
Care to elaborate on this?

Finished today. I thought it was good. Not the best in the series.
I think this world is fascinating and I don't have hatred for certain characters.

Finished this morning. Enjoyed significantly more than Oathbringer.
Not sure how Shallan annoyed so many when she isn't present for large chunks of the novel. I'm glad Sanderson showed that he's ready to wrap up the split personality thing. But I thought the journey into Shadesmar was really interesting.
This was Kaladin's Order of the Phoenix. It's hard to pull off the whiny hero who needs to grow successfully, and Sanderson fell short here. Yeah, the final 150 pages are great, and Kaladin is great in them, but damn.
Loved the Navani/Raboniel conflict.

Man, I could not disagree more. I love this series but this book was a fricking slog for large parts of it. And it didn't even really come together that much in the end.
It was largely boring in areas with going over board on the science of fabrials and so on, and the early parts with Kaladin and with Shallan's different struggles were a chore.
Still love this series but this one was by far my least favorite.
I really look forward to finally really seeing Shinovar in book 5.
And what Taravangian/Odium did to Wit is extremely disturbing...

I finished it today.
Have similar feelings that I had after reading Oathbringer. Kind of underwhelmed for most of the book, but the back quarter was awesome.
Like Oathbringer, I think that I'll enjoy the rest of the book more on the reread.

Just finished last night after starting mistborn/stormlight this year. Reading mistborn secret histories next then taking a sando break. Know I need to read elantris and warbreaker any other needed cosmere books besides novellas? Loved all the books. Got my wife into mistborn now, whenever there is a release date for next wax and Wayne I’ll prob jump back into reread mode.
