I remember not having money for the Ice Cream man. The old older kids in the neighborhood purchased me one, but with on catch. I had to get it out of this huge mud puddle they tossed it in.

Man, hearing the ice cream truck was a wonderful thing as a kid. We'd scour the neighborhood looking for him on our bikes.

No doubt.

I loved those sherbet cups with the gumball in the bottom. Bomb pops were also good.

We never had money as kids, so when the ice cream truck would cone, we never had enough change to buy anything. Not that we could ever catch the damn thing. I lived on a busy highway, but the ice cream truck would ride down a side street where a bunch of my cousins lived. From my house, that was a few hundred yards away. If we heard the truck at our house, odds are, we wouldn’t reach the other street in time before it drove off. I think, in my entire lifetime, I managed to actually catch up to that truck and order a sonic the hedgehog pop once.
