I'm a history buff so I absolutely love Virginia. I live in Alexandria and the night life (when we aren't shuttered by pandemics) is fairly vibrant in Old Town.

I live right across the way in what we sometimes call Alexandria in Fairfax County.

And if you need something “quaint” in the area there’s always Old Town Alexandria which includes George Washington’s church.
It's the kind of place where Thomas Jefferson once gave $50 to my church's building fund. And Patrick Henry defended our first pastor, Jeremiah Moore, for being a Baptist and preaching in a era when it was illegal to do so if you weren't Anglican. He was jailed three times and preached from the windows of the jail in Old Town. Moore would go on to write to Thomas Jefferson and influence passage of the First Amendment (religious liberty was very important to early Baptists because they were often persecuted for not belonging to the state church).
