According to the AD, it saves over 2 million per year. It sucks, but that is the way it goes. I'm still pissed they cut out Wrestling a long time ago. Like it or not, sports like football pay the bills. To get the best players you have the have the best facilities to even be in contention.
If the Covid affects next year a lot more Olympic Sports around the nation are going to feel the burn of being cut.

I hate to say it but the lady is right. People want to dog on women’s soccer being a drag but for 90% of ADs all sports are a drag but football and men’s basketball and the whole department works in the red and has to be funded by the school.
We here in the SEC are the outlier.
What really needs to happen is not connect sports to schools at all. Have professional academies like in Europe and like what we do with tennis for the top players here too.
Sports at schools should be intramural and not a business.
But that’s a commie idea. Huh.

quote:as someone that’s been involved heavily with track for a while now there’s zero way their budget for men’s track and cross country is legitimately 2 million dollars. Especially with them hosting meets. No way at all.

And if it is the coaching staff needs to be fired and replaced
