Disagree on the 14er, maybe a more difficult class 3/4 peak would surely be too difficult for the vast majority of people from out of state, but Quandary sees a ton of people who are not in amazing shape from sea level who complete relatively easily. We completed with my brother after a couple days of sleeping in Breck, and met several others in similar situations. I’d say most people in decent shape with a couple of days of sleeping at elevation can do Quandary.

That said if you’re looking for an easy Sunday waltz, a 14er isn’t great. But that’s applicable to even those who live at elevation.

Geaux - We definitely plan on renting side by sides at some point during the trip. Who did you use in Ouray?

thegreat - Thanks for the suggestions! My wife will get very excited when I tell her about Cinnamon's Bakery..

Regarding the 14er, we obviously do not want to get into a situation where we get into trouble, but it'd be a cool experience to do. We'll continue to do our research on it and decide as it gets closer. Thank y'all again for both of your opinions!
