If something is stored in the cooler at the grocery store you store it in the refrigerator at home.

A stick of butter keeps perfectly fine on the counter for extended periods of time. You throw the milk out on the expiration date too, because the government said so?

No, salted butter can be stored in a butter dish on the counter for up to a week & that’s what we do.
