Well that's false. Not all states have a binding law saying an elector has to vote according to the voter's wishes.

Anyway, I guess you missed this part of my post -

Not false. That does not change the fact that you are voting for electors.

The state can force its electors to honor the popular vote of the state or not. Doesn’t change what you are voting for in the booth—which is a set of electors

No I didn’t miss that. It’s just nonsensical because all of those things are determined at the state level, because the states are conducting their own separate elections. States don’t even have to have mail in ballots, etc.

There’s no federal law because it’s not a federal election and none of those laws you propose would be constitutional. There is no federal election in this country.
